At a Glance
Faculty and Staff
Founded in 1967, Fayerweather is a co-educational independent private school enrolling approximately 200 students in PreKindergarten through eighth grade. We are a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and we are accredited by the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).
Learning Through Projects
As students progress through the grades, their creativity is used to build problem-solving skills and resourcefulness. Our students learn to conduct research, consider multiple perspectives and articulate their ideas. In doing so, they not only master important academic skills, but also learn to apply them to a variety of situations, building flexibility and mastery simultaneously.
At Fayerweather, being well-educated means more than doing well academically. Our students participate in a wide range of enrichment classes both during the school day and in our Afterschool programs. Studio art, woodshop and music, classes are all part of a child’s week.

Capital Campaign 2018
50 Years of FSS
Community participation is a cornerstone of our school community. Active volunteerism and financial support, through the Annual Fund and other initiatives, are crucial to Fayerweather’s success. We cannot emphasize enough how important community participation is to our school, nor how much we value everyone’s contributions.
Regatta and Boat Expo
The Regatta started out 40 years ago with wheels on the roof of the old school and continues with sails in the temporary pond in the side yard. Two divisions with a Boat Expo in the middle. Perfect weather and wonderful fun. GO BOATS!
