At Fayerweather, we have always believed that education must prepare students for the future and the world they live in today. Our graduates step forward as confident learners and leaders—clear-eyed, self-aware, and ready to engage with the complexities of our time.

Now, more than ever, the world needs critical thinkers, compassionate leaders, and courageous changemakers. Throughout history, forces have sought to restrict progress—curtailing access, limiting rights, and fostering division. But history also teaches us that knowledge is one of the most enduring forms of freedom and resistance.

This is why we embrace a simple but powerful truth: Education is our activism.

    Welcome to Meetings

    "Welcome To" events are a chance for parents to meet the upcoming grade band team, ask questions and talk about what comes next at Fayerweather. You will hear a brief introduction from the team on what you can expect developmentally and some curricular highlights before getting the opportunity to more casually converse with the team about what is on your mind.

    Summer Playdate Series: BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ Waterpalooza

    This PreK-8 event takes place in the FSS yard, and is intended to connect families and students with one another before our next academic year begins, and of course, honor the intersectionality of our identities.

    Waterpalooza is filled with music, games, sprinklers, blow up pools and lots of water balloons!

    Summer Meet-Up: Movie Night

    Let's close the month of August together with a movie night in the Big Yard with a movie of your choice on Saturday, August 30 from 7.30-9.30pm. 

    Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be available. Given the anticipated numbers, at least one adult is required to stay with their children. This is not a drop-off event.

    New Family Scavenger Hunt

    Come meet teachers, explore classrooms, and learn even more about Fayerweather with a scavenger hunt especially made for our new community members. 

    Afterwards, stick around for a school wide “Welcome Back Family Gathering”  celebration from 3-4.30pm!

    New Family Reception

    During this evening, various administrators, board members, and Parents Association chairs share what engagement looks like, how Fayerweather has impacted their families' lives, and how we thrive as a community on connection. 

    Childcare is provided. 

    Registration will open in August.

    5-8 Curriculum Night

    At Curriculum Night, families have a chance to meet with teachers and learn about what the upcoming school year will bring for the students and why we do what we do at Fayerweather.

    Complimentary childcare will be provided for families who are attending the Curriculum Nights. This program is for school-aged children for Fayerweather families only. Children will have the choice of watching a movie, playing board games, and/or coloring. A quiet space will be provided for homework and reading. Pizza and juice will be provided.

    Space is limited. Registration will open closer to the event.
