We're going back to the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s (METG) Middle School Drama Festival this year with our Unit Play! The Unit Play has been a Fayerweather tradition for over 30 years and we are thrilled to build upon this legacy by performing in this one-act festival. Fayerweather will be one of 90 middle school members participating across the state. Each school is sent to a festival site, local to them, and participates in a day of theater magic as performers, technicians, and audience members throughout the day. Last year, our students earned a Silver Medal for our production of Twelfth Night, as well as awards for Excellence in Scenic Design, Excellence in Acting (Arden Vigoda, Max Vigoda, and Markham Ott), and the coveted Stage Manager's Award.
The Con by Tracy Wells is a comedy heist whodunit, a rare first-issue comic is up for grabs. Set at a Comic Con, this play consists of a series of vignettes, each with its own stand-alone story furthering the underlying plot of a con in progress. There’s a bat-tastic hero clowning around with his foe, a video game menace, a D&D newbie who wants to let her inner gnome shine, some cut-throat cosplay competitors, and much more! Join us to see our exciting 5-minute scenic set-up and breakdown, our 40-minute performance, and a talkback session at Fayerweather with the cast & crew.
Catch our performances at Fayerweather on Friday, May 2 at 7PM and Sunday, May 4 at 4PM. You can get a ticket here -- and as an incoming family, you can get your tickets free! Just use the code "Welcome" at checkout!
