I hated everything school expected me to do because I wanted to do it my own way. I did not like people telling me what I had to do, I wanted to come up with my own way to do things. To be honest, I couldn’t process everything that school was throwing at me. Things would come in one ear and then fly right out the other. Because I could not understand the ways that school wanted me to do things, I tried to make it so I could understand it my way. The result was that I never raised my hand during class because I thought that my answer was going to be wrong and that everyone would look at me like I was stupid.
Sharon was the first one who brought out the doer in me. She taught me how to take in information and remember it, rather than having it fly straight in one ear and out the other. It actually stayed in my brain.
Fayerweather has taught me how to be a doer and a learner. They took the spectator in me and made it disappear and turned me into the person that I am now.
Thank you.
