Elijah

I came to Fayerweather and everybody was so welcoming that I felt like I had known everybody here for
ages. I think the reason for that is how trusting this community was when I came here. People at Fayerweather always assumed that I had good intentions and never shot down any of my ideas. When I saw how beneficial this mindset was, looking at the good parts of people and ideas, I became optimistic when trying new things.

Unfortunately, the thing that I am going to remember the most about
this year is the past three months. With the limited human interaction, technical problems, and the thought of graduating through Zoom, Covid19 dominates this year. Adapting to highschool life will feel like nothing compared to a sudden caronacation. I want to thank all my fellow graduates and teachers for a wonderful two years, and I hope you all have a great summer!

"In seventh grade, I had a mantra for Elijah: “Slow down, say more. Slow
down, say more.” You see, Elijah was like the roadrunner from the cartoons
- give him an assignment and he’d say “Beep beep” and WHOOSH, he was
off and all you could see was the dust he left behind..."
