Love March

Easton and Ben, Unit Students
We are writing to invite you and your students to the Love March 2024. The Love March is a student-led event where students take action and raise awareness about the problems facing our society and planet. This march originated back in 2017 as a way for students to share their voices. Unfortunately, the pandemic in 2020 halted the marches, and we are excited to be bringing it back this year. The rally will be after school on May 16, from 3:30 to 5:15. We encourage all to join us. We will be marching from the Pit in Harvard Square to City Hall. We will meet at the Pit at 3:30. The rally will begin at approximately 4:00 on the City Hall steps.

In addition to the event, we are sponsoring three different contests: a speech contest, a poem contest, and an art contest, with prizes for the winners. Winning works and other entries will be displayed at Cambridge City Hall. The winners of the speech and poem contests will also be invited to share their work at the rally. All additional information about the contests is on the flyer.
Thanks in advance for helping us spread the word and passing along flyers to teachers and others who might be interested. If you have any questions, please contact us at lovemarch@fayerweather.org

Sincerely,

The Love the March Committee

Note about supervision: Pre-K through second-grade students who attend need to be accompanied by a caregiver. Students in 3-8th grades may attend without a caregiver and will be accompanied by FSS staff on the MBTA bus to the event. That said, families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Students in 3rd- 6th grades who are unaccompanied by a caregiver will be accompanied on the bus back to Fayerweather. Permission slips will be needed for 3rd-6th grade students so FSS staff knows who is attending and to ensure we have contact information for caregivers.
