Coronavirus Information and Resources

As the news continues to break, we want to reach out today on the topic of coronavirus, and to immediately pass on some useful resources from the Cambridge Public Schools.
Below you will find an email that went out just this morning from the Cambridge Public Schools. It closely aligns with our own current thinking and it also includes some useful links to materials from the Mass Department of Public Health and the Cambridge Public Health Department.

We want to share these resources immediately, and also to assure you that we, as an independent school, will be doing everything we can to support you - our students and families - and that we will work in full coordination with others in our community as things move forward.  This will likely be the first of a series of communications on this topic, so we want to specifically open those lines of communication.

Two additional points for now:
  1. We know that many families may have travel plans over the coming April break. Please stay informed of the CDC’s travel advisories. These are updated on a daily basis.
  2. We will also be tracking resources for parents to talk to children about the coronavirus. Our school counselor, Molly, will also be available if you have any questions or concerns.
One of the resources available to us in this work is our consulting physician, Dr. Catherine Allan - mother of Caroline Allan (class of 2019) and Ellie Allan (grade 6). Catherine is the Medical Director, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children's Hospital, and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Thank you to Catherine for her services in this work, now and moving forward.

More information to come.
