Fall Fun Fest 2009
This year the Fall Fun Fest had all the essentials - Sponge Toss, Donuts on
a String, Shaving Balloons and Candy Slides - what more could you want? This event
goes back to the early days of Fayerweather and always begins with a parade and
ends with games built and presented by the Unit. As you can see, it was a big success!

Regatta & Expo 2009
The Regatta and Expo are an annual spring event. In the middle of May we drag
out the tarp-lined race course, screw down the fans and bring out the boats carefully
designed and crafted in the woodshop over the winter. The racing pairs are matched
by length alone. Ed is the starter, the Unit students judge, record and help organize and Rob & Kate sing a nautical medley!

Project Days 2009
Every year there are new projects to explore and old favorites to try again.
This time we built stilts, made totem poles, cooked pizza, apple pies and rainbow
cakes! There were hiking trips, hidden pirate treasure, new hairdos, basketball,
soccer and dance. It's always so much fun!

Community Dance with
Fatou N'Diaye 2009
First 7-8 Grade teacher Jenn Kay Goodman presented her Horizon Fund-sponsored
trip to Africa with photos and stories and even a conversation in Swahili! Then
dancing began, led by Fatou N’Diaye, founder and director of the West African traditional
ballet company Silimbo D’Adeane. It was fantastic! We danced, we sang and we drummed.

Colonial Faire 2008
Every two years the 5th & 6th grade transforms the gym into a colonial village
with shops of every kind. We all visited and learned first-hand about dipping candles,
blowing glass, making baskets, newspapers and bonnets. The research they had done
in preparation was evident from the beautiful shops, the costumes and the wealth
of knowledge they shared with us.
