The goal of the woodshop program is for students to explore and develop confidence
with all aspects of working with wood. Hand tool use, properties of wood, project
design, and follow through are some key elements of student work in the woodshop.
Students are encouraged to experiment and try out their ideas in a variety of ways.
A unique aspect of our woodshop program is that students in all grades pursue projects
of their own choosing. This open curriculum is designed to motivate students while
promoting creativity and independence in the Woodshop. In the past, projects
have included animal with moveable legs, game boards, boats for the regatta, boxes,
houses, tables, stools and even clocks and lamps!
