Science Curriculum
Meg & Kate's Class

Science is exciting because it is happening all the time. Letting science "happen" and allowing children to become interactive with concepts is important. We will write home from time to time some science discussion we have with your children. In the area of science it is our aim to provide children with opportunities to discover and explore the natural and physical world around them. Children are encouraged to explore, observe, experiment, theorize and question and record (through verbal, pictorial and physical means). These skills are important as they potentially apply to every aspect of a child's school experiences. Some areas of study are:

  • Butterflies
  • Measuring
  • Weighing
  • Space and stars and planets
  • Senses
  • Musical Workshop
  • Water Lab
  • Earth Lab-- planting, recycling
  • Archaeology
  • Simple Machines and Inventions
  • Chemical
  • Reactions Lab
  • Batteries and Bulbs
  • Magnets
  • Light/Shadow
  • Turtles
  • Trees
