The admissions process at Fayerweather usually involves the six steps listed here.
1. Application
The application is due as soon as possible, but no later than January 15. It may
be submitted before or after you visit the school. The non-refundable application
fee is $55.
2. Open House (optional)
Visit Fayerweather on Sunday, November 1, 1:30-4:00 p.m. to see the classrooms and
speak with current parents and faculty.
3. Parent Tour and Interview
This is a required part of the application process. Appointments are scheduled in
the morning from October to February. Due to a high demand for tours, we encourage
you to schedule your visit early.
4. Child’s Visit
This is also a required part of the application process. Children applying for PreK
(child must be four by September 1), Kindergarten, and Grades 1 and 2 visit for
a playgroup session with other children applying for the same grade. During the
playgoups, you will have the opportunity to chat with current families and the Head
of School. Children applying for Grades 3-8 visit in their current grade level for
a half day during which they participate in classroom activities and an individual
evaluation with a teacher. We will schedule these visits once we receive an application
and will notify you of the date(s). Please note that we do not provide feedback
regarding your child’s playgroup or classroom visit day.
5. AISNE Student Evaluation Form
Please give your child’s teacher an AISNE form to be completed and returned directly
to Fayerweather.
6. School Records Release Form
Please fill out and give the release form to your child’s current school authorizing
them to send your child’s school records directly to Fayerweather.
