Fayerweather is a co-educational independent day school enrolling about 205 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.

The school was founded in 1967 by parents and educators interested in exploring alternatives in schooling. They set out to provide child-centered education that respected each child's thinking while also valuing the role that families and communities play in their education. You will recognize those original values in the school today.

The Fayerweather Street School is a member of the National Association of Independent schools (NAIS) and accredited by the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).
